He is a gruff but lovable - mostly harmless gentleman from Forth Worth, Texas. Surfing his blog is like reading a good old illustrated magazine from your uncle's damp and crammed library in the basement.
Of course there is not much to read in "noir photos", but who cares about reading in the age of collapsing texts!
I believe he must be one of those guys, obsessed with details in art of movie making or let's say the result of art of move making, the images. And by the way, isn't the whole blogging affair about details and sometimes insignificant angles?
